Our Setting

Throughout all age groups we follow the standards set within The Early Years Foundation Stage. (EYFS) The EYFS sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years old. This is a very important stage as it helps children get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. Our staff at Giggles Day Nursery are fully qualified and experienced to enable them to deliver the EYFS to meet the care, development and learning needs. We have two staff members trained with BA in Early Years Leadership and also hold Early Years Teacher Status and we strive to deliver the legal welfare requirements to keep the children safe, the seven areas of learning and development through the children's play and to carry out regular assessments to track children's progress to support the children to reach the Early Learning Goals they are expected to reach by the age of 5 years.

Our baby room is fully equipped to care for 15 babies aged 6 months - two years. Staff work in partnership with parents to follow your routine to provide the continuity from home whilst ensuring the individual needs of the babies are met. The environment in our baby room enables them to explore and engage within the four areas of provision, Exploratory, Imaginative, Physical and Comfortable. Staff plan activities and experiences in these areas based upon observed interests the children have.

We provide all meals and snacks for the children and adhere to any dietary requirements children may have. For younger babies food will be blended appropriately.

If your child has formula milk, we ask parents to provide this. Parents must also provide nappies and baby wipes.

Our Toddler room caters for 12 children aged 2-3 years. The provision enables staff to plan a variety of activities within the environment and the well equipped areas of continuous provision.

Our children also have daily access to our outdoor area and to enhance the children's learning and development staff provide a variety of learning opportunities outdoors.

All meals and snacks are provided and there is provision for the children to sleep and rest as needed. We will support parents with toilet training and follow your home routines to the best of our abilities.

We encourage the children to become independent as they grow and in preparation for their next learning milestone of our preschool room.

Welcome to our Pre-school room

Within our pre-school room we care for up to 24 children between the ages of 3-4 yes and we strive to prepare them for their school journey. Throughout their time within the preschool room we aim to support, encourage and build upon their individual skills to prepare them for a more formal learning environment.

The environment the children access is enhanced to promote early writing skills, mathematical development and support their awareness of phonics as part of their preparation and 'school rediness'.

The children access a wide variety of continuous provision which supports their individual interests and staff continually observe and reflect how best to meet the children's needs.
